I have a computer! Oh yeah and the playoffs!!

Posted by wgseries on March 1, 2010

So I’ve been without a computer for quite a few years now but that has never been a problem for I have various widespread resources to attend to my needs. These 5 months, however, January through May, I’m living in my hometown with my parents to train my sister for a tennis scholarship. Because of that, my resources are four hours away and my family does not have a computer for me to use. This being said, it’s no wonder why it’s been difficult for me to continue with our WGS blogs and I apologize for this inconsistency. I am proud to announce, however, that as of last week I now have a (piece of shit) computer! It’s in decent working condition and therefor I can check websites, network, log on GARENA, and yes, even play warcraft 3 and other low graphic games!! This being said I’m proud to announce that the networking venues of the World Gaming Series are back in action! This being said, everyone please quickly join us on facebook!! Just search “World Gaming Series” and you’ll find it no problem! Also don’t forget about our Twitter @ WGSeries. Just add us up and start following us for all of the latest updates.

Now onto league news . . . THE PLAYOFFS ARE HERE ! !

We’ve had a great season and just finished up a very successful and fun event of Admins vs Managers where we the managers emerged victories (with a little help from LadyLuck). Now the final four teams play a finals consisting of the semifinals and finals events. First off, for the semi finals we have the Russian powerhouse and first ranked team of the season, Pokeroff, taking on the fourth seed yet worthy contender, the Korean aRirang! You can expect some exciting matches here with Pokeroff players such as HawK, majestic, Please and Roll; and aRirang players such as former MYM]Storm, Kimkihyun and Believe. Our second match is an even more anticipated showdown! What seem to have become rivals over the past six months will battle again as the German Geh Ab Clan fight off against the Spanish x6tence. These two have faced off many times in the past and GaB has typically been the victor, but with the massive lineups that each team has, both teams are capable of taking the match. Expect some great performances with players such as ThomasG, Kas, Acidreign, and Rosenkill coming from GaB; and Vortix, Yange, Rob and perhaps their new and solid chinese player Tuo_Xie. x6 has plenty of players to choose from as do all of the other teams so let’s find out together whom each team will play to represent them in their WGS playoff matches and lookout for streams from our partners WAAAGH! TV, Gamesports, and ACL TV. This is high level competition that you won’t want to miss out on. So until next week, everyone have fun and wish the best of luck to our playoff combatants.

Week 2 Incoming

Posted by wgseries on November 23, 2009

So everyone’s heard the news that the first prize for WGS will be

“2x SteelSeries 3H Headset
3x SteelSeries QCK Pads
Alot of posters”

Although it’s not so heafty like the nice prize going on at WCO (which I’d like to add a nice congradulations to WCO for that nice $300), it’s still enough to motivate a lot of team to win.  After week one many close games were looked upon and only a few were able to walk away proud of their predictions.  Every team in the league has some fight in them and we’re seeing it come out now.  A word of advice to the teams in top shape: do your best because no team will give you an easy win! As for this week, some things to watch out for: the number 1 seed, German team ducKs go up against an american powerhouse InfC; seeded Korean team SNoW will go up against the 2nd German team, the two nonseeded yet still powerful Korean teams eQ and ConQ will show down the decide which is the first Korean team to move down to the lower bracket; the two Latin based teams will collide in the lower bracket leaving only 1 Latin team in the league; the two both overestimated and underestimated teams of cGz and pCp will fight to see who deserves to stay in the winners bracket; GA vs nSt&exL, rG vs GFO, and sWc vs uPro.  All matches will be sights to see so stay tuned and check the schedules as week 2 commences!!

Beginning a Fresh Start

Posted by wgseries on November 18, 2009

Well everybody I’m sure you are all looking forward to checking out this brand new season of WGL as much as we are.  As you all know, the qualifer teams were recently announced and the teams at hand are for the most part the ones expected.  By now most team managers should have begun communication and started scheduling this weeks wars.  Much excitement has sprung forth and people are ready to see just what kind of matches will occur in this seasons qualifers.  Any early upsets, or will the top seeds sweep the bracket?  Many people have their favorites while some newer names have risen to accept the qualifier’s challenge.  And of course, the top seeds as well as those who were individually invited into the season are wondering what the final prize will be for the top teams.  The pretty SteelSeries ads are posted all over the site and people are getting excited that finally another league could offer at least some sort of prize.  With so many questions and so many things to watch out for, don’t forget to check up on WGS news!
